UPGRADE TO VERSION 1.5xP

Upgrade to the latest version of 'Pro Pinball - The Web'.

New in version 1.50P:

  • Windows 95 native version added

New in version 1.52P (PC CD-ROM):

  • Fixed bug that caused version 1.40K to slow down on some systems
  • New version of UNIVBE (5.2)

Features added since 1.00E:

  • High score codes for use on the High Scores page
  • Improved performance on lower spec machines
  • Pause mode
  • Turbo mode
  • Front-end music and sound effects
  • New back-box graphics
  • Extra speech
  • Minor gameplay tweaks and bug fixes

WINDOWS 95 (1.50P)

The following upgrades allow an existing DOS version of the game to be upgraded to provide both DOS and Windows 95 versions, either of which can then be played.

The Windows 95 version requires DirectX to be installed on your system. If you haven't got DirectX, you should use the 'Windows 95 Upgrade with DirectX II'. You may also want to use this upgrade if you have DirectX I, since DirectX II will allow you to use higher resolutions than 640x480.

If you download the upgrade that includes DirectX, unzip it into a temporary directory (using the -d option to preserve the directory structure), then follow the instructions given in the included 'README.TXT' file.

If you download the upgrade without DirectX, copy it into your existing game directory and unzip it using the -d option (answer 'Y' when prompted to overwrite files). Further instructions are given in the 'README.TXT' file.

Note: If your DOS version of the game is earlier than 1.40K, it's recommended that you also download and install either of the two PC CD-ROM upgrades below, both of which contain minor fixes to some data files.

PC CD-ROM (1.52P)

There are two upgrade options available for the DOS version:

    • Full DOS Upgrade (2,083 K) - Contains version 1.52P for DOS, plus the updated back-box graphics
    • Small DOS Upgrade (810 K) - Contains version 1.52P for DOS, but omits the updated back-box graphics

After downloading an upgrade, copy it into your existing game directory and unzip it using the -d option (answer 'Y' when prompted to overwrite files). Further instructions are given in the included 'README2.TXT' file.

Note: If you downloaded the previous PC CD-ROM version 1.50P upgrade, and you use the UNIVBE option, you should download either of the 1.52P upgrades, since the 1.50P upgrade may not work on some systems with UNIVBE enabled.
